All about GRE
- GRE stands for: Graduate Record Examination.
- It is the GRE® revised General Test.
- It is conducted by ETS (www.ets.org).
- Top universities use GRE® scores for admission to MS/ MA/ MBA/ PhD programs.
- It is used as a common measure for comparing candidates world over.
- For admission colleges also consider: UG score, TOEFL/ IELTS score, LORs, SOP & over all profile.
- GRE® tests skills that are necessary for success in a Graduate program.
- ETS also conducts GRE® Subject test which may be required by some universities.

GRE® Scores:
- Scores are valid for 5 years
- AWA score scale: 0 to 6 in increments of 0.5
- VR score scale: 130 to 170 in increments of 1
- QR score scale: 130 to 170 in increments of 1
- Total maximum score: 340
- Good score to get into top university: 300 & above
- Option to cancel scores is also available
- There is no score for DUMMY or RESEARCH section
